Legacy systems with limiting support capabilities, combined with an increasing number of execution venues and data volumes, resulted in a major struggle for our client to continue distributing accurate quotes to its vast online client base.

Client was utilizing a 10 year old market data platform which had been developed, and was being maintained in-house. The operational support required for this was limiting new application development as resources were being focused on keeping legacy systems running, - not on innovating.
Constantly growing data volumes continually pushed the capacity limits of the in-house ticker plant. The ratio of quotes to trades was growing in line with the increase in available data, and the number of execution venues was on a path of growth as well.
The client has an extensive retail client base, to which it distributes data and provides a quoting service. Keeping up with demand was becoming a huge challenge.
SR Labs used a varity of its market data and enterprise platform technologies to create a scalable, managed service. This included a number of SR Labs products from feed handlers and SuperFeed, through to caching, distribution and middleware. SR Labs also built a custom integration layer enabling the new system to continue to communicate with the legacy API's, allowing a staged move into production reducing risk and time to market. By using our Professional Services team to help with the project deployment, the customer benefited from a greatly expedited time to market while reducing any risk.
The Filtered Options Feed provided the perfect solution for the client to provide options data. There was no requirement for the full OPRA feed, which was wasting unnecessary hardware and resources due to its size and complexity. The Filtered Options Feed removed any ongoing issues around capacity and volume.
The client is successfully operating a market data platform that was architected, deployed, and is currently managed by SR Labs. This allows them to provide the content their clients require, without concerns around capacity and volume, and enables their resources to focus on innovation and not on ticker plant maintenance.
