Equinix Named Best Data Center Provider by Waters Technology

Read the interview with John Knuff, vice president of global ecosystems at Equinix, and find out more about why, once again, Equinix was named as the best data center provider.

Equinix attended the Waters Rankings Award Ceremony on July 14th, 2016 at the Metropolitan Club, where winners were selected by end-users casting thousands of votes over a six week period to determine the victors of 30 different technology categories. Equinix was named Best Data Center Provider. Waters Technology interviewed John Knuff onsite to find out why winning Best Data Center Provider is so important to us and what we’ve done this year to win the hearts of end-users.

In an interview with Waters Technology, John Knuff, vice president of global ecosystems at Equinix, discusses some of the recent investments that the company has made to expand its global footprint.

Over the next 12 months, what will be the main challenges facing the industry that you’ll look to help address?

John Knuff: Initiatives around cost reduction and outsourcing of non-core services are a top priority. Most firms must evolve their IT environments to include more cloud services from multiple providers and they need better ways to interconnect these services so that they’ll function as a seamless whole. Equinix provides direct, private access to all the leading cloud service providers via our Equinix Cloud Exchange, enabling firms to deploy the right cloud for the right application. And we have an entire team that can assist with the inventory and prioritization of candidate applications and workloads, as well as provide guidance to re-architect into a multi-cloud environment. Specific to cloud, Equinix Professional Services for Cloud—or EPS Cloud, formerly Nimbo —provides extensive hybrid-cloud solutions and migration services, helping organizations adopt and integrate cloud technologies.
