The benefits of a cloud-based network.
The cloud has become more and more mainstream. Businesses are gaining experience of scalable cloud infrastructure. Most businesses are also using more than one cloud provider. This can be to mitigate the continuity risks associated with using a single provider, or to leverage each provider’s unique capabilities and create a best-of-breed solution. Unfortunately, centrally managed connectivity between clouds is not part of the suite of services of any of these cloud providers. You can define networks within each cloud to your heart’s content, but if you want to connectivity between clouds, you’re on your own. Until the appearance of the cloud-based network, that is.
In this blog post, I want to discuss some reasons on why flexibility in the WAN is important. Here are my 7 undeniable reasons why you should use a cloud-based WAN to make your cloud connectivity flexible:
#1 Bring network costs in line with your actual usage
The #1 reason for a flexible network is to bring the network costs in line with the usage. A pay-per-use model, which only charges the actual transported traffic, the number of active connections, and your selected SLA. So, pay for the traffic, connections and SLA you actually use, without any commitments.
