Options enhances FX destinations, eyes geographic expansion
nfrastructure provider Options has enhanced its existing connections to US-based foreign exchange trading venues and added a few destinations as part of the growth of its business, according to Ken Barnes, senior vice president of corporate development.
“We’re seeing a trend in the addition of outsourced venues like us in this industry across asset classes in conjunction with increasing electronic trading in FX,” Barnes said. Additionally, he said brokers are starting to upgrade their platforms, and new venues continue to pop up.
The vendor upgraded its connections between New Jersey and Chicago to 14.1 milliseconds roundtrip, the fastest available path over lit fiber, from about 14.6 milliseconds, Barnes said in an interview.
