2017 has been a humbling and exciting year for BSO. We’ve been busy this year pursuing new projects and expanding our network around the world, here are some of the highlights!
A very proud moment for us this year was when we were crowned Best Low-Latency Network Provider by senior tech executives of the finance industry at the Intelligent Trading Technology Awards.
“This prestigious award represents BSO’s growing leadership in the space, and some of the biggest names in the business trust us to provide superior connectivity to their customers as they grow their global reach.”
Michael Ourabah, CEO
Before our award-win we had agreed partnerships with some of the industry’s biggest players. In May we secured an agreement with CME Group to provide market data, hosting and colocation services to their customers. In February, we announced that R.J. O’Brien, the oldest and largest independent futures brokerage and clearing firm in the United States, selected our low-latency network to support its core global connectivity.
We’ve welcomed many new clients this year including Direct Market Access provider Object Trading, now Vela, and developed relationships with our long-standing clients including international FX and derivatives broker Sucden Financial. The event calendar has been choc-a-bloc with the team attending numerous industry events that took us all over the world including Dubai, Amsterdam and Singapore.
Our team also enjoy giving back and having fun with our clients and industry peers. In July, we had a great time running in the JP Morgan Run, and we recently sponsored COSSIOM Annual Charity Event, in which we held a raffle to raise money for young children with leukaemia. This year we also had our annual BSO clients event, with our own Havana themed cocktail– that went down very well!
This year has seen growth in our organisation both internally and externally. We have further expanded our network reach by adding new 14 PoPs, and optimised numerous low-latency routes around the world including key trading routes in the APAC region. We also now have a direct connectivity link from the Taipei Internet Exchange to major financial hubs in Asia, showcasing our experience in pioneering hard-to-reach regions.
“Being at the forefront of connecting the trading community to new and high-growth regions such as Taiwan is core to BSO’s service-led approach. Our presence in the exchange reinforces our continued commitment to providing the electronic trading community with continuous and stable access to the most profitable and attractive markets.”
Fraser Bell, CRO
2017 has been the 13th year of service for BSO, and we’re thrilled to move into our 14th. We want to thank everyone who helped us achieve this success, and can’t wait to see what 2018 has in-store for us.
